System requirements

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), an installed official Minecraft Launcher for Direct Launch, enough storage for the launcher and each profile, and internet access for authentication, project metadata, game files, and updates.

Accounts and credentials

Community features use a Mc Vibes account backed by Firebase Authentication. Direct Microsoft authentication is not implemented in the launcher; gameplay is handed to the official Minecraft Launcher, so Mc Vibes does not ask for or store a Microsoft password.

Local storage

By default, profile game files are stored under the operating system application-data folder in VibesMcLauncher/game/profiles. Launcher settings and encrypted session data use Electron application storage; tokens are encrypted with the operating system facility when it is available.

Updates and network access

The launcher checks the HTTPS update feed and can download updates automatically. It also connects to Mc Vibes, Firebase, Modrinth, official Minecraft/Mojang services, loader distribution services, and creator-provided download hosts when those features are used.

Install and uninstall

  1. Download the clearly named Windows portable executable.
  2. Move it to a folder you control and run it.
  3. Create or import a profile and keep the official Minecraft Launcher installed for Direct Launch.

To uninstall the portable launcher, close it and delete its executable. Delete the VibesMcLauncher data folder separately only if you also want to remove profiles, cached files, logs, and settings. Back up worlds first.

What the file check means

The desktop launcher performs a local, mod-aware static inspection of downloaded JAR/ZIP archives and calculates a SHA-256 value. It checks archive structure and code-pattern signals and can block high-risk findings. This heuristic inspection is not a guarantee, not a cloud antivirus service, and does not make every mod safe.

The launcher does not intentionally install unrelated bundled software.
