How to Report a Suspicious Project

Stop before trying to prove the risk yourself

If a project or download appears suspicious, do not execute it merely to collect more evidence. Close the download prompt, leave the file unopened, and preserve the page address. You do not need to demonstrate harmful behavior on your computer before making a report.

Do not disable operating-system protections, browser warnings, or security software because a page tells you to. Do not enter a Minecraft, Microsoft, email, payment, or launcher password into a form reached from an unexpected download. A legitimate project report can be investigated from page and file metadata without asking a reporter to take that risk.

If you already ran a suspicious file, disconnect from sensitive accounts as appropriate, use the recovery guidance from the relevant account provider, review active sessions, and scan the device with tools you trust. Mc Vibes cannot inspect your computer or recover third-party accounts.

Recognize reportable warning signs

A broken mod and a suspicious project are not automatically the same. A normal compatibility mistake can cause a crash. Report behavior that concerns content integrity, user safety, or platform rules, including:

• The download button delivers a different project or unrelated program.
• A supposed mod requires an unexplained executable, script, or browser extension.
• The page imitates another author or republishes a project without permission.
• The title, image, or description deliberately hides what the file does.
• A file or link asks for credentials, payment details, or security settings unrelated to the project.
• The project contains adult, hateful, harassing, or clearly unsafe material.
• The download is missing, repeatedly corrupt, or does not match its stated file details.
• The project uses stolen images, source, models, textures, or another creator's name.

Choose the closest report reason

Selecting a precise reason helps route the report. Common reasons include malware, misleading download, copyright, stolen content, harassment, adult content, hate content, spam, broken file, and other.

Use malware for a file or instruction that appears designed to compromise a device, account, or data. Use misleading download when the action delivers something materially different from the labelled project. Use broken file when the published file is unavailable, corrupt, or cannot be retrieved as described without evidence of malicious intent.

Use copyright or stolen content when a project republishes protected work or falsely claims authorship. A copyright notice may require information from the rights holder or an authorized representative. The Copyright / DMCA page explains the dedicated process for a formal request.

Use other only when no specific category fits, and explain the issue clearly.

Preserve useful, limited evidence

Record facts that a moderator can verify:

1. Full Mc Vibes project, server, post, comment, or file URL.
2. Project and version name shown on the page.
3. File name, file size, and SHA-256 value when displayed or safely calculated without execution.
4. The exact button or external link used.
5. A short sequence of what you expected and what happened.
6. Relevant screenshot with private information removed.
7. Date and approximate time of the event.

Quote only the relevant error or instruction. A concise reproduction is more useful than a large unrelated log. If a redirect is involved, include the final domain but do not revisit a dangerous page solely to obtain it.

Protect private information in the report

Never include passwords, authentication tokens, session cookies, recovery codes, payment card numbers, private keys, or a complete personal document. Logs can contain local user names, file-system paths, server addresses, and tokens. Review them before attaching or quoting anything.

Use a contact address only through the intended report or legal form. Do not post personal information in a public comment to get a moderator's attention. Reports and public discussions serve different purposes.

If evidence contains information about another person, include only what is necessary to identify the reported content. A public profile URL is usually more useful than copied private conversation details.

Submit one clear report

On supported Mc Vibes content pages, use the Report action while signed in. Select the target and reason, then describe the evidence. Reports are intended for the moderation workflow; they are not public votes.

Avoid submitting the same report repeatedly. Duplicate submissions make review harder and do not establish that a claim is true. If there is material new evidence, refer to the earlier report when a contact channel allows it.

A report should distinguish observation from conclusion. For example: “The button labelled version A downloaded file B.exe from domain C” is verifiable. “This creator is definitely a criminal” is not appropriate evidence.

Understand what happens next

A report can be open, under review, resolved, or dismissed. A report is a signal for investigation, not an automatic verdict. One unverified claim should not be treated as proof, and a reporter may not receive private details about enforcement or another user's account.

Depending on the evidence, content can be reviewed, hidden, rejected, or left available. A serious file concern may justify restricting downloads while facts are checked. The public Safety page should describe the statuses and controls that Mc Vibes actually uses.

Report copyright through the correct path

If you own the work or are authorized to act for the owner, use the formal copyright process rather than a general abuse label when possible. Identify the protected work, the exact infringing URL, the basis of ownership, contact information, and the required good-faith and accuracy statements. Do not submit a copyright claim merely because two projects use a similar idea.

For an impersonated author, include the original official project location and explain the relationship. Screenshots help, but stable URLs and publication information are easier to verify.

When immediate outside help is appropriate

Mc Vibes moderation can address content hosted or listed on Mc Vibes. It cannot replace emergency services, law enforcement, a device administrator, an account provider, or a payment provider. Use those channels when the situation concerns immediate danger, account takeover, financial fraud, or a compromised device outside the website.

The best report is safe to collect, specific enough to reproduce, limited to relevant information, and sent through the correct channel.
